PTCUMC Family,
The last two Sundays have been incredible, and it has been so much fun to meet so many new people! Thank you for welcoming my family- Margaret, Charlotte and Jackson- into the membership of this church. You have already been a blessing to our family!
If you were able to join us for one or both of the last two Sundays, you’ve heard me talk about the image from Isaiah that is guiding our current sermon series: “take root downward and bear fruit upward” (Isaiah 37:31). While we spent the first two weeks a little more focused on sharing some of my own story, we’re going to spend the final two weeks of this series exploring the roots of the Church and the fruit God expects of the Church. I can’t wait to share more about this with you!
In the meantime, I want to remind you briefly to set aside time to hear God’s voice in your life this week. As you look around the world and notice things that aren’t as they should be- whether that’s economic, social or cultural- remember that God’s plan to set the world right is YOU! God’s plan is for His people to be His hands and feet, working to grow disciples for the transformation of the world. For that to be true in each of our lives, it presupposes that we have heard God’s voice so that we can see what God sees, go where Christ sends and do what the Spirit empowers us to do. Put yourself in front of God this week and ask the simple, life-changing question that followers of Jesus have asked Him for millennia: how can I serve You?
