After watching today’s prayer join us in reading the scripture below:
Proverbs 3:5-6: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”
Micah 6:8: “He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.”
Guided Prayer Questions:
- When we say we are Christians, are we acting in a manner that is consistent with what Jesus has taught us? How do we treat others?
- Are we being loyal disciples of Christ, or is our desire for material goals (wealth, reputation, relationships, success) more important?
- At times, we are all like Peter and Judas. After we sin, we have choices. Do we repent or despair? Do we accept God’s mercy or not? Do we adjust and get going again with the help of God’s grace or do we give up and quit? Matthew recommends we look to Peter’s example.
