We All Have Opinions

My opinions may not be as loud as others. Or expressed in words. But they’re still there, waiting for the right moment for someone to say that I matter…words and thoughts included. That doesn’t mean I’m right; it means that I’m worth understanding. And so are you.‬

Opinions are dangerous things. They can change a course of action. Fight for justice. Offer compassion. But they aren’t the truth. They are based on an individual’s perception of the world. A finite lens through which each person filters what is around them. You can’t see what someone else sees but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t try.
For when we see through someone else’s eyes, it changes our filter. We see the world differently; it’s bigger and clearer. And when we filter our opinion and other opinions through the lens of God, we can start to see the world through God’s eyes and can offer others a glimpse of what the world could be.

May we always remember that everyone matters to God. Opinions included.
“Fools find no pleasure in understanding but delight in airing their own opinions.” – Proverbs 18:2
