Every year, as our students begin the Confirmation journey, I’m reminded just how meaningful this season can be. It’s more than a class or a program, it’s a moment where faith starts to take root in a deeper way.
When I went through Confirmation myself, it was a turning point in my walk with Christ. I still remember standing in front of the congregation – nervous but excited. Realizing that I was officially becoming a member of the church. But more importantly, I was stepping into a lifelong relationship with God. It was during that season that I gained clarity about my faith and discovered a passion for ministry that still shapes who I am today. The people around me didn’t just celebrate that day; they nurtured and encouraged me as I continued to grow.
That’s why Confirmation holds such a special place in my heart, and why I love walking through this journey with our students now. I get to watch faith come alive, to see those moments when things start to click, and to share in meaningful conversations that deepen both understanding and relationship.
Confirmation is more than just a class – it is a defining journey of faith. Designed for upper middle school students and their parents, this experience helps students explore what it truly means to follow Jesus and make their faith their own. It’s a sacred rite of the church, symbolizing a student’s personal decision to become a follower of Christ and to take ownership of their faith as full members of the church community.
Our first Confirmation class begins Tuesday, November 5, and we’ll conclude the journey with a Confirmation Retreat on February 6–8. The retreat cost is $100 per student, and it’s often one of the most memorable parts of the entire experience.
As our students meet on Wednesday nights throughout this season, I’d love to invite our church family to be in prayer for them. Pray that their hearts would be open, their questions would be met with grace, and that God would move in powerful ways as they take this next step in faith.
If you have a student who’s ready to begin this faithful walk, I invite you to join us for this incredible journey. Together, we’ll learn, grow, and celebrate what it means to be a part of God’s family.
