Camp Warrior: Loving Our Neighbors, One Sixth Grader at a Time
Serving Booth Middle School Together as the Body of Christ
What if something as simple as helping a student open a locker… was actually holy work?
That’s the heart behind Camp Warrior, a special opportunity for our church to come alongside the rising 6th graders of Booth Middle School (our next-door neighbors) and ease their transition into a brand-new season of life. This year’s Camp Warrior takes place on July 25 and July 29, and we’re inviting YOU to be part of it!
We often talk about loving our neighbor, and this is one of the most tangible ways we get to live that out. By showing up for these students with snacks, games, laughter, and kindness – we’re not just helping with orientation. We’re extending the heart of Jesus to a generation that desperately needs to know that they are seen, valued, and not alone.
For some of these kids, the idea of walking into a big new school is overwhelming. Camp Warrior helps break that fear down – locker by locker, hallway by hallway, conversation by conversation. Whether you’re cheering them on in a silly team game, showing them how to find their homeroom, or just offering a warm smile, you are becoming a reflection of Christ’s love and peace in what could otherwise be an anxious moment.
This is Kingdom work.
This is what it means to be a church For Our Neighbors.
This is being the hands and feet of Jesus.
There are many ways to serve … whether you’re helping prepare snacks ahead of time or volunteering during the event itself. You can even sign up for multiple roles if you’re available! Camp Warrior is a beautiful expression of what it means to be a neighbor, to show up for the next generation, and to connect our community to the hope of the gospel in a practical way.
Let’s step into this moment together, not just to make school a little less scary, but to make Jesus a little more visible.
