Central Night Shelter | Food Service Ministry
Thank you for your participation and prayers for the Central Night Shelter and the homeless. It has been a difficult 2020 – 2021 season in many ways. As their “food service street ministry” comes to an end for the season, will you help us in providing meals each night beginning Thursday, March 25 through Wednesday, March 31 for 75 guests?
Your assistance is requested in helping us provide each night 75 (525 total) of the following items that need to be assembled and packaged as “To Go” bags.
- 75 SACK LUNCHES – to include 2 sandwiches each (150) of turkey and cheese
- 75 BREAKFAST BAGS – to include 1 juice box and fruit item (banana or orange)
- 75 DINNER MEALS – prepare a hot meal to be placed in individual food containers or meal boxes which will be provided
Midwest Food Bank will be providing some, but not all, of the dry good items for assembly of the sack lunches and breakfast bags. Donated food items will be available for pick up for assembly and meal preparation beginning Sunday, March 21. Further details will be forthcoming on utilization of the church kitchen in accordance with Church Health and Safety Guidelines.
We also looking for donations of the following items which we will deliver to the guests that week:
- Travel size hand sanitizers
- Disposable face masks
- Travel size soap
- Travel size toothpaste
- Travel size toothbrushes
- Travel size hand/body lotions
