Flood Recovery Update: Building A
As many of you know, significant water damage affected our campus during a storm at the end of July. Building A was widely affected, impacting the main lobby, restrooms and several offices, the Traditional Worship Center, all Kids/Weekday School classrooms on the first floor, the third-floor restrooms, offices and classrooms, and the elevator. The definitive cause of the water intrusion is still under review by our roofing contractor’s insurance company. While frustrating, we expect a somewhat protracted timeline to reach an insurance determination conclusion.
What’s Been Done
Thanks to timely action and the assistance of skilled professionals, the immediate crisis has been handled. Water and mold remediation is complete, and ServPro has issued their final mitigation report. Most importantly, an industrial hygienist has confirmed that the building’s air quality is safe and that there are no concerns of mold, clearing the way for reconstruction to begin.
What’s Next
· First Floor (Weekday School & KIDS areas): We are expecting to receive contractor bids on a defined project to restore usability of the first floor this week. Once a recommendation is made and the Leadership Board approves, we intend for work to begin as soon as possible. Construction is estimated to take three weeks. This first stage will focus on restoring safe occupancy so the Weekday School (and Sunday Kids) can resume normal operations as quickly as possible. Aesthetic repairs and finishing touches will follow later.
· Remaining Areas of Building A: Insurance inspections and determinations are ongoing; however, we are soliciting and gathering quotes for the second and third floors. While we are compelled to move quickly to restore usability of the first floor, based on the advice of outside experts we have determined it is best to delay repair work on the second and third floor until such time as the insurance coverage and liability determinations have been reached
For now, Building A remains closed. We ask everyone to avoid that area until reconstruction has advanced far enough to safely reopen.

Together, we will see Building A fully restored and ready for ministry once again.
