Faith. Friendship. Fun. This spring and summer, PTCUMC Student Ministry is creating space for students in 6th–12th grade to grow closer to God, build lasting friendships, and live out their faith together.
On any given week in Student Ministry, you’ll find students gathered in small groups – talking honestly about faith, praying together, and learning what it means to follow Jesus in everyday life.
Over time, something amazing happens.
Students who once stayed quiet begin to open up. Friendships deepen. Confidence grows. High school students step in to help lead and encourage middle schoolers. Students invite friends and discover that church can be a place where they truly belong.
Through retreats, small groups, and consistent community, students are building strong relationships with caring leaders and with one another. They’re learning that faith isn’t something they walk through alone, it’s something we grow into together.
We’re seeing God at work in powerful ways, and this spring and summer offer even more opportunities for students to grow.
This spring, our Middle School Spiritual Life Retreat invites students to step away from daily distractions and focus on their relationship with God through worship, teaching, small group conversations, and community-building activities. High school students will also share a memorable Spring Break experience together in Orlando, where intentional faith conversations and Christ-centered community will be woven throughout the trip. As summer approaches, middle schoolers will gather for a Beach House Retreat, offering a unique setting for worship, reflection, and meaningful time together by the ocean.
We are also excited to introduce the For Our Neighbor Mission Retreat (June 14–18). During this overnight, retreat-style experience, students will stay at the church while serving alongside local nonprofits and ministry partners throughout the community. This hands-on opportunity helps students live out their faith by loving and serving others in tangible ways.
In addition, this summer brings the tradition of Wild Wednesdays, happening almost every week and packed with connection, fun, and faith-centered community. Students can look forward to a wide variety of activities, including a movie on the lawn, a Braves game, a summer lock-in, the PTCUMC Open Putt-Putt Tour, a city-wide scavenger hunt, human battleship, slip-and-slide kickball, and of course, a trip to Six Flags. These weekly gatherings create consistent space for students to build friendships, invite others, and experience Christian community in engaging and memorable ways.
Student Ministry at PTCUMC exists to help young people build a faith that lasts beyond graduation through worship, relationships, retreats, and service. We invite our church family to pray for the students, leaders, and volunteers who will be part of these experiences, and for the ways God will continue shaping lives through this ministry.
