“We moved to our neighborhood in the heart of Covid so it took a while for us to meet many of our neighbors. Over the past few years, we formed relationships with many of them, but we didn’t find the time to reach out to others that were still so close by. We decided to host a block party and put out invitations to neighbors all around us and the outcome was more than we could have ever hoped. There were people who have lived in the area for years who had never met; people who just moved in and didn’t know anyone; and people who just needed a little nudge to get out and make some new connections. We received so much positive feedback and had the best day giving our neighbors the opportunity to get to know everyone a little bit better. It was definitely one of those moments when we realized that taking a small step toward bringing people together was a huge blessing to so many.” – Mary Gainor
