How We Neighbor & How You Matter

At PTCUMC, we have always been a “missional” church, reaching out locally, nationally, and globally to share Christ’s love. Missions are one way we neighbor intentionally, whether through serving others, supporting events, providing financial support, or offering prayer. Our Servant Leaders, the hands and heart of our church, help organize and guide each project, clarify support needs, and share how God is at work through these efforts.

People ask. . . what missions are we involved with now in 2025?

This is what missions look like at with our church family:

  • Visiting with our homebound members and sharing treats with them
  • Joining Sunday morning Serve teams as a group
  • Crocheting baby blankets for newborns, prayer shawls for cancer support groups, making hats for the homeless
  • Putting together casseroles for use with family visits and staff of Wellroot.
  • Putting together book bags to start the school year for Wellroot
  • Providing special breakfasts and giving gifts to our weekday teachers
  • Preparing meals for our Student Ministry
  • Supporting our scout ministry with help at the Chicken-Que
  • Serving at Midwest Food Bank
  • Building relationships and delivering meals to our local 911 dispatch and fire departments
  • Making Christmas and Easter baskets for Wellroot families
  • Hosting diaper drives for Wellroot
  • Serving at Bloom to support foster families
  • Helping at our Fall Fest event each year

Whether it is reaching out to the homebound, showing care through handcrafted knit items, donating meals or time in supporting families in need, or encouraging our scouts and friends at Booth Middle School, we neighbor in a plethora of ways. Our small groups are all involved with missions… come join us! You’ll be glad you did.

Allison Kickham, our Director of Adult Ministry, has a list of groups that coordinate each of these efforts. These projects need people just like you so that we can be the church that serves and loves like Christ. New ideas and projects are being prayerfully explored by our Special Projects group on the Leadership Board – and they’d love to hear yours. You can email missions@ptcumc.org with questions or ideas.
