IN HIM is the Answer We Seek

Ephesians 1:7-10 NRSV

7In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace 8that he lavished on us. With all wisdom and insight 9he has made known to us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure that he set forth in Christ, 10as a plan for the fullness of time, to gather up all things in him, things in heaven and things on earth.

There’s been so much talk about the things that separate us these days that we are forgetting what binds us together. What binds us together is JESUS. It’s all about JESUS!

I have so much more that I need to learn from Jesus. I have learned a lot but I know I have a lot more to learn. I pray that I never ever become so discouraged by the world’s conversations that I decide I can do better on my own rather than learn more about Jesus in the community of the King. I don’t know about you, but I need more Jesus in my life! I experience Jesus best in the community of the King.

I have been truly touched at the very core of my being through worship lately. I feel God’s DIVINE JOY in worship. Through the music, the prayers, the laughs, the “AHA” moments, the Table where we feast on Manna from Heaven, the chance to meet people at the water’s edge and sling water everywhere, the inevitable unplanned surprises where God just shows up, and the gentle forming of my heart – worship is both my mortal and eternal heartbeat.

I am encouraged at the falling covid numbers in our area. I feel so very alive in this new season of life as the leaves fall and the weather cools. I see the SPIRIT move among the Covenant people of God who are bound together as the true host of the Table says, “Behold this is the cup of the New Covenant, for it contains MY BLOOD poured out for the forgiveness of YOUR SINS…”

Don’t let anyone fool you. It’s all about Jesus. And it always will be.

Yes, it really is that simple.
