Leadership Board


A graduate of McIntosh High School, Darren joined PTCUMC with his wife Claire in 2010. Their children are Nicholas and Julia.


Allen and his wife Jeanette have been members of PTCUMC since moving to Peachtree City in 1998. They have two adult children, Alex and Erica. Allen has enjoyed serving in the Church as an usher, on projects with the United Methodist Men, on the Finance Committee and now the Leadership Board. He works as a Technical Consultant for AT&T-Global Business Solutions.


Michael, Amy, and their children Michael, Grace, and Henry have been members of PTCUMC since 2016. Michael serves as Chief Executive Officer for Piedmont Fayette Hospital.


Don and I joined PTCUMC in 1977. We raised our son Zachary here, and currently he and our daughter-in-law Kathryn live in Newnan. In 2017, I retired after 43 years of teaching high school and college American Literature and Composition.


John, Cassondra and Zac have worshiped at PTCUMC since 2006. John has spent 30 years in non-profit leadership, currently serving as VP at Operation Mobilization


Nathan has been a member of PTCUMC since his confirmation in 1987.  He is the principal consultant of Dorris and Associates, an engineering consulting company focusing on product safety.  After marrying his lovely wife, Lynn, their entire family has been active in the church.  Currently, their daughter, Kelbe, is teaching in New Zealand and their son, Joshua, is active in baseball, boy scouts and loves 608. 


Member of PTCUMC for over 20 years.  Past president of PTCUMC Methodist Men’s Group.  Wife Missi, children Vee and Tori. Commercial Banker for over 20 years.


Scott Kavanaugh and his wife Amy were both born and raised in Fayette County. After a brief time in Ohio (where two of their three kids were born), they returned to the Peachtree City area and joined PTCUMC in 2009. Scott, Amy, Caroline (8th grade), Jackson, (5th grade), and Collier (3rd grade) are active members of PTCUMC. Scott works in the commercial real estate industry. 


My membership at Peachtree City UMC has been almost 25 years. I'm married with two adult children and one grandson. I work at "A New Start Counseling Center" as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.


The Nye family have been members of Peachtree City UMC for over twelve years.  Scott and Karen have two children, Allison and Andrew.  The Nye's own an outpatient pediatric therapy clinic located in Tyrone. Scott has previously served as a member of the Staff Parish Relations Committee.


Although baptized Lutheran, I have been a life long Methodist, even before we were United. My wife, Carolyn, and I joined Peachtree City United Methodist Church the first Sunday of January 2000. I have had the privilege of serving PTC UMC as chair of both the Trustees and Staff/Parish Relations committees, as well being a Lay Delegate to Annual Conference. I facilitate the Thursday Morning Men’s Bible study and serve on the Production Team. I have retired twice, once from the Indiana State Police and then again from the US Army Criminal Investigation Laboratory. We are proud parents of two wonderful sons (who followed their father’s advice and married beautiful, intelligent Christian women), the grandparents of seven delightful grandchildren and are great grandparents for the first time.


Amy Posey moved to Fayetteville from South Carolina in the Fall of 2013 and she and her family joined PTC UMC shortly there after.  Amy is married to Clay Posey and they are the proud parents of Emma and Tucker. Amy completed her studies in Nursing at Columbus State University and the University of South Carolina. Amy is an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, Nurse Practitioner and has worked as a nurse for over 22 years. Amy enjoys reading and sewing, and a little known fact, she has been a extra in a couple of movies. She has been actively involved with the youth at PTCUMC and can be found most Sunday evenings welcoming the teens to 608.


Tom and Nancy have been members of PTCUMC since 1981.


Tom and Jenny have been members since 2000.


Sharon joined PTCUMC in 2009 soon after she moved to Georgia with her husband Chris and their two sons Will and Jeff.  She recently rejoined the work force after being at home full time for 20 years, and is now working part time at Edward Jones.  She and Chris are members of In The Middle Sunday School class, and you can find her family worshipping Sunday mornings at the 11am service.  In her free time Sharon loves to read, hang out with her family and watch sports, hike, and play tennis.


My name is Danny Welch, I’ve been married to my wife Kerry for ten(10) years and we have two girls;  Brileigh (9) and Everleigh (7).   We moved to Peachtree City in 2012 and have been members of PTCUMC since 2013.
