A beloved charter member of Peachtree City United Methodist Church, Ethel Pendleton “Penny” Spivey passed away peacefully on February 27, 2026, at the age of 88.
Penny and her husband, John, were among the early residents of Peachtree City and helped establish our church family in 1974. Her life here was deeply rooted in faith, creativity, and community. A gifted artist, she found joy in painting, crafting, and sharing her talents with others—especially through the many handmade touches that celebrated each season. She was also known for her wonderful baking and her enthusiastic love for the Atlanta Braves.
More than anything, Penny cherished her family and gave thanks to God for His faithfulness throughout her life. She is remembered for her warmth, creativity, and the lasting impact she made on her church and community. A celebration of life for her will be on Saturday, May 2 at 1:00pm at Peachtree City UMC.
