Ray Tyner

November 11, 1947 – September 6, 2024

Long-time member Ray Tyner left us on Friday morning after an extended illness. Please be in prayer for his wife, Dee, and their sons, Ed and Hugh.

Ray grew up in Cordele, Georgia where he was affectionately known as Butch, and graduated from Crisp County High School in 1965. He furthered his education at Georgia Tech, obtaining his MBA from Georgia Southwestern. He met the love of his life, Dee Gleaton when they were children. They married on September 26, 1970, and had two boys, Ed and Hugh. Ray served in the United States Army as an officer for 26 years retiring as Lt. Colonel in 1995. For the last 29 years he enjoyed a second career as a project manager for the US Army Reserves.

Ray loved singing in the choir here at PTCUMC and had many enjoyable hobbies in golf, military history, gardening, and traveling with his family and friends. He was also a youth soccer coach for many years. A memorial service for Ray will be held on Friday, October 11th at 2:00pm in the Garden of Celebration at 225 Robinson Road, Peachtree City, GA 30269.
