On this first Sunday of Lent, we are challenged to “give up” unspoken, unagreed-to expectations. Whether in families, workplaces, churches, or even in our relationship with God, unmet expectations can poison peace and distort love. What if this Lent we released our need for control and learned to communicate with humility, gentleness, and trust?
