GO

In the call of the prophet Isaiah, we saw that an authentic encounter with God puts us in touch with our deepest needs and with the deepest needs of others. God meets us where we are and uses us to meet others where they are.

In Jesus call to the Church in the book of Acts, chapter 1, we saw that to be saved by Christ is to be sent by Christ, and Christ calls us beyond the comfortable and familiar to the uncomfortable and unfamiliar, one step at a time.

Today we consider how we can respond to God’s call when the need is overwhelming. For that, we turn to an ancient story about one of the most well-known characters in the Biblical story.
