Into your hands I commend my spirit...

This another prayer of submission, trust and confidence. It's Jesus' trust in the Father that allows him to choose obedience and follow through even to the cross. In a sense, this is the end of the prayer begun in the Garden of Gethsemane.

This is also the pattern for us. What could we risk because we know the Father goes with us? What can we endure because we know the Father is with us?
