Student Ministry is a vital part of life here at PTCUMC. As United Methodists, we stand on the foundation laid by John Wesley, who believed that faith grows best in community and through accountability with one another. That same vision shapes our Student Ministry today. We want our students to have a place where they belong, where they can ask honest questions, and where they can learn what it means to follow Jesus together. This fall, our student ministry is back in full swing, and there are so many ways for students to connect – and for our whole church family to come alongside them in prayer and support.
On Sunday mornings, Breakfast Club is back at 9:30am – and this fall we’ve added an 11:00am option too! So, what’s Breakfast Club? It’s a space for middle schoolers to eat together, make friends, and dive into faith in a real and meaningful way. Students will grow in their faith and their friendships as they share a meal, hang out with friends, and dive into weekly lessons. Sunday nights also bring opportunities to connect for both Middle and High Schoolers, starting at 5:00 pm in The Foundry. This past Sunday, we kicked off a series called John Wesley’s Questions and Conversations. For those who may not know, John Wesley, the founder of Methodism, developed 22 questions he felt Christians should wrestle with daily. We won’t tackle all 22 at once, but each week we’ll explore five or six together in small groups, just as Wesley intended, fostering accountability and helping students reflect on their own faith journey.
And there’s even more happening! From a trip to a corn maze to the Rooted: Fall Retreat and beyond, there are numerous ways for our church family to be involved. We need folks to provide food for students on Sunday mornings or evenings, chaperone a trip, mentor, or lead a small group during confirmation or Sunday night programming. There’s a place for everyone to jump in, grow alongside our students, and make a difference. Pray and see where God might be calling you to serve!
