WE DID WHAT?

Abram Blessed by Melchizedek | Genesis 17:14-20 NRSV

After his return from the defeat of Chedorlaomer and the kings who were with him, the king of Sodom went out to meet him at the Valley of Shaveh (that is, the King’s Valley). And King Melchizedek of Salem brought out bread and wine; he was priest of God Most High. He blessed him and said, “Blessed be Abram by God Most High, maker of heaven and earth; and blessed be God Most High, who has delivered your enemies into your hand!” And Abram gave him one-tenth of everything.

We began a three week sermon series this last Sunday called “Take the Leap.” Through the message yesterday, we heard a renewed “very old” call on the people who worship at Peachtree City United Methodist Church. Put simply, we are a people who have been blessed by God who understand our calling is to be a blessing to others. That’s it. That’s our renewing focus.

Through an amazing testimony video, Tom Staigle told the story of how God has moved through our Global Outreach Team (our GO Team) and our Leadership Board with a clarifying call to take a leap of faith. In faith, we leapt.

Beginning with the offering last Sunday, the Leadership Board of this church has begun giving one tenth of all general fund giving to missions – specifically to the GO team to manage in our relationship with our approved Mission Partners. That’s in addition to 100% of the Faith Promise dollars so many of you already faithfully contribute. That does not go away. This is “in addition” to Faith Promise!

If you missed worship Sunday, please go back and watch it online through Facebook or our new church website. We need everyone who calls PTCUMC their faith home to encounter this message. EVERYONE!

It’s not everyday that a local church commits $200,000 to missions.

You’ve just got to hear the story!

Because YOU are part of the story.

And you know how much “I love to tell the story!”

God’s Faithful Love,
